The Southeast Resource Development Council (SERDC) mourns the loss of Chief Jim Bear who passed August 27, 2025.

Chief Bear was committed to his community members of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, and to serving on a number of SERDC's affiliate board of directors. He will be greatly missed.

His leadership, wisdom and commitment will be his everlasting legacy. SERDC Chiefs Board of Directors and Staff sends our deepest sympathies to all that are impacted by his loss.
